Perfecting great stories since 1981, Kavithalayaa Productions went on to become a household name in Tamil Nadu because of the man who founded it.

A Dadasaheb Phalke and Padma Shri awardee, K. Balachandar worked over 150 films and was capable of eliciting evocative performances from artists whose career transformed and blossomed after he had honed their talents.

Today, one will find that Kavithalayaa Productions is synonymous with K. Balachander because the creation and the creator have merged together to become an institution for good cinema.

K. Balachander's penchant for selecting good stories, actors, directors, musicians and technical team is well-known in the industry and that's why our filmography is replete with milestones that no other production hitherto can boast of.

Filmography

We have produced over 58 films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada and most of them became popular blockbusters and won national awards. Many of our films also became the launch pad for actors, directors, musicians and technicians who have scaled great heights in cinematic excellence.

Digital Video Content

It is in the character of our production house to go where no one has gone before. Kavithalayaa is among the first production houses that has produced non-fictional video content for OTT platforms. Our maiden project for Amazon Video Prime has been chaired by music maestro A. R. Rahman.

Tele Series

Subtle, understated and yet impactful is how we approach drama. Kavithalayaa has produced over 110+ serials for television viewers and those 2500 hours of content still remains fresh in the viewers' mind.

Corporate and Educational Videos

Our technical excellence received recognition when Japan's largest advertisement company Dentsu commissioned us to produce their corporate films and videos. Subsequently, we have also produced many educational and corporate films for companies in India and abroad.
